Owner/Director – Claudine Isé. Claudine Isé is a Chicago-based writer, curator, and educator who has worked in the field of contemporary visual art for the past two decades. Isé is also the Director of the Freeark Gallery + Sculpture Garden at the Riverside Arts Center. She began her curatorial career as an assistant curator at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, then moved to Columbus, OH, to become the associate curator of exhibitions at the Wexner Center. In Chicago, Isé also teaches in the School of Art and Art History at the University of Illinois-Chicago, and is a Lecturer in the Graduate Painting and Drawing dept. at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Assistant Director – Elizabeth Lalley. Elizabeth Lalley is a Chicago-based writer and independent curator. She received an MA in Museum & Exhibition Studies from the University of Illinois-Chicago, and holds a BA from the University of Michingan where she received the Academy of American Poets Award. Elizabeth has worked for the Chicago Artists Coalition, the Smithsonian Center for Folklife & Cultural Heritage, and the University of Michigan Department of English. She is a Curatorial Fellow with ACRE (Artists’ Cooperative Residency and Exhibitions) and a contributor to Newcity and Chicago Artist Writers.
Designer – Nicole Gardner is a Chicago-based Graphic Designer. She graduated from Dominican University with a BA in Graphic Design and Apparel Merchandising and has been working as a freelance artist for the past few years. She believes in design with intent, and demonstrates this practice through communities and clients that value design in the context of art, culture, and innovative creativity.
